I'm tired of being fat. I hate my body so much, it often pains me to look in the mirror. There are several things I need to do in order to remedy it. In the past I've done some things, and I've been successful to some extent. My goal for this year is to be happy with myself, and a major aspect of it is my physical self. This blog is my attempt at holding myself more accountable for my actions.
I heard some psychologist talking on the radio the other night about New Year's Resolutions, and one of the frequent problems is people get overwhelmed by saying they are going to do something in the course of a year. I don't frequently listen to psychs on the radio, but I thought that made a lot of sense. So I've set up a weekly/bi-monthly goal for myself.
1. Increase Water intake to 100 oz/day (13 cups)
2. Increase Vegetable intake so that half of lunch and dinner consists of vegetables
3. Decrease Red Meat intake to 3xs a week.
4. Decrease Cheese intake to 5xs a week (quite a feat-I loooooove cheese).
5. Decrease portion sizes in general.
6. Stop eating after 8pm.
7. Decrease chocolate/sweets intake to 3xs a week.
8. Increase Daily Exercise to 30 minutes a day.
I'd like to accomplish all these goals by June 30. After such date, these goals will be re-evaluated and other goals may be set. These seem like small goals right now, and I hope that by keeping them small, I'll accomplish them. Once I've accomplished them, it'll be easier to keep each one going and add on other goals. I also don't believe in completely depriving myself of anything-I truly believe you can enjoy everything in moderation. So we'll see if I can figure out how to live my life in moderation and get healthier along the way.
